DPR prosecutor’s office sends to court the case of Ukrainian sailors who killed 12 people in Mariupol

MOSCOW, May 4 – RIA Novosti. The DPR prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case against four Ukrainian sailors accused of shooting 12 civilians in Mariupol. telegraph channel Russian regulatory agency.

“The prosecutor’s office of the Donetsk People’s Republic approved the indictment in a criminal case against soldiers of the 36th separate marine brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the publication says.

The materials were sent to the DPR High Court. Among the defendants in the process are Sergei Balitsky, commander of the topographic and geodetic department of the control battery and artillery reconnaissance, head of the radar platoon, Vladimir Kucherenko, head of the sound measurement reconnaissance detachment, Dmitry Latyshev, and the sound meter radiotelephone of the platoon Yevgeny Yakubenko.

According to investigators, from March 6 to March 15, 2022, the defendants shot at 14 civilians on the territory of the Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Plant. Of the wounds received, 12 died at the scene, two of them managed to hide.

They are charged under paragraphs “a”, “g”, “l” of Part 1 of Article 356 of the Russian Criminal Code (“Use of Prohibited Means and Methods of Warfare”), Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (“Political, murder of two or more persons by an organized group based on ideological hatred”), part 3 of article 30, paragraphs “a”, “g”, “l” of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code (“Political, attempted murder of two or more persons committed by an organized group based on ideological hatred”).
