Algerian President: Joining BRICS will help country’s development more than any other organization
TUNISIA, May 7 – RIA Novosti. Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebbun said on Saturday evening that Algeria’s entry into the BRICS will help the country’s development more than international financial institutions have helped in history.
The Algerian president’s statement was made during a meeting with the editors-in-chief of the country’s largest media. The video of the meeting was released by Tebbun’s office.

Answering a question about the country’s entry into the BRICS, Tebbun said, “The BRICS organization will help us (in development) more than any other international financial institution has ever helped us.” said.
According to him, “the capital of the BRICS bank includes $100 billion, which is more than that of the World Bank.”
“We will finance our BRICS projects, join their organization and unite politically. This is power,” said the Algerian leader.
Earlier, Tebbun said that his country hopes to join the BRICS in 2023.
BRICS unites Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. A number of other countries intend to join the economic bloc, including Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, according to the Foreign Ministry of Argentina, Iran and China. South Africa took over the BRICS presidency from China earlier this year. It will last until the end of 2023, after which it will be transferred to the next country.
