More than 200 people came to the commemoration in front of the Soviet monument in the city center in Vienna.

VIENNA, 7 May – RIA Novosti. More than 200 people arrived in central Vienna on Sunday to mark the Soviet monument, where a commemoration of the 78th anniversary of Europe’s liberation from Nazism was held, the RIA Novosti correspondent reported.

The event takes place on Schwarzenbergplatz near the monument to the heroes of the Soviet army. Participants in the action came with Soviet and Russian flags, St. George wore ribbons. Many came with photos of loved ones who died at the front. Support came from Bulgaria and Serbia, as well as Russian-speaking participants living in Vienna.

“Victory Day is a holy holiday for all of us, and we are rightly proud of it. Victory Day is near and dear to each of us, wherever we celebrate it in our historic homeland or abroad,” the Russian ambassador said. Audience Dmitry Lyubinsky in Vienna.
