Peskov described reports of a large-scale offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as the absolute prerogative of the Ministry of Defense.
MOSCOW, June 5 – RIA Novosti. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov did not comment on the news of the start of a large-scale attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, explaining that this issue is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense.
“This is linked to the course of the SVO, so the Ministry of Defense has absolute prerogative here. You saw the early statement by the ministry today. I have nothing to add to that,” Peskov told reporters.
According to Kiev, on the morning of June 4, the Ukrainian armed forces launched a large-scale offensive on five sectors of the front in the South Donetsk direction to break through the defenses on the most vulnerable part of the front. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said in a previous statement. According to him, “the enemy did not fulfill his mission, he did not succeed.”
