Podolyak describes Indonesia and Brazil’s peace plans as disconnected from reality

MOSCOW, June 5 – RIA Novosti. Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of Volodymyr Zelensky, believes that Indonesia and Brazil’s peace plans are detached from reality and do not lead to peace.

“We’re taking the Indonesian and Brazilian scenario. They’re out of touch with reality, they’re not about justice, they’re not about the end of the war, so they’re more likely to do more harm than good to some kind of just process,” Podolyak said. On the air of the all Ukrainian telethon.

Kremlin comments on Indonesia’s Ukraine peace plan

Indonesian Defense Minister General Prabowo Subianto announced at an international forum in Singapore last weekend a plan for a solution in Ukraine according to the “Korean scenario”, which includes the creation of a demilitarized zone and the deployment of UN peacekeepers.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said in late February that the United States and Europe should start talking about reaching an agreement in Ukraine rather than promoting conflict. He urged countries not involved in the conflict in Ukraine to assume responsibility for progress in negotiations for a solution and to provide Russia with “minimum conditions” to end the conflict. Also, Lula da Silva suggested creating a format similar to the G20 to discuss the situation. British Financial Times newspaper, referring to Brazilian Foreign Minister Maura Vieira, noted that Lula da Silva wanted to propose the establishment of a “peace club” with the participation of China.

In November 2022, Zelensky said that Kiev has its own “peace plan” consisting of 10 points. Among them – ensuring nuclear, food and energy security, the exchange of “held persons” according to the formula “all for all”, the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Zelenskiy reminded once again that Kiev insisted on providing him with international security guarantees and developed a draft of the relevant document.

Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is ready for negotiations, but Kiev has banned them at the legislative level. The West constantly calls on the Russian Federation to negotiate, Moscow seems ready for it, but at the same time the West ignores Kiev’s constant refusal to negotiate. Earlier, the Kremlin stated that there are no prerequisites for the situation in Ukraine to take a peaceful course, that the absolute priority for Russia is to achieve the goals of special operations, at the moment this is only possible by military means. They added that the Russian Federation appreciates the efforts of all countries trying to resolve the conflict in Ukraine peacefully, but that this has been impossible so far. As noted by the Kremlin, if the actual situation and new realities are taken into account, if all Moscow’s demands are well known, the situation in Ukraine can move in a peaceful direction.
