“Citizens of Kryvyi Rih, stop panicking. I wrote – there will be water. Water intake has doubled in the last 5 hours – everyone is taking a bath and other utensils. The automatics of the pumps can not stand it, they constantly turn off. Because of this, some pumps do not work,” wrote Vilkul, On Telegram channel.
Earlier, the mayor of the city reported that an emergency meeting was held to provide water to residents after the emergency. “The situation is very complex,” he stressed.
The upper part of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was destroyed by shelling last night, the reservoir dam itself was not destroyed. It is alleged that the attack of the Ukrainian troops on the hydroelectric power station was carried out from the MLRS “Vilkha”. There is an irregular water drainage. There is no need to evacuate the population yet.
The Kakhovka hydroelectric power station is the sixth (lower and final) stage of the Dnieper hydroelectric power stations, located five kilometers from the city of Novaya Kakhovka, Kherson region (since September 30, 2022, part of Russia).

Officials said the water level in Nova Kakhovka rose by ten meters.
