Russian Ambassador to Washington: Ukraine’s terrorist acts will be encouraged by the United States
WASHINGTON, June 8 – RIA Novosti. Anatoly Antonov, Russian Ambassador to Washington, commented on the American officials’ reaction to the attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, saying that Ukraine’s terrorist acts will receive more support from the United States.
Antonov added that the actions of the American authorities were “an example of a misconceived, flawed position that has already caused serious upheavals in the world.”
On the night of June 6, Ukrainian troops launched a series of attacks on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, as a result of which the upper part of the station was destroyed, the reservoir dam itself was not damaged. There is an irregular water drainage. The evacuation of the civilian population from three districts began – Novokahovsky, Golopristansky and Alyoshkinsky. Vladimir Leontiev, head of the administration of the Novokahovsky urban district, took responsibility for the destruction of the hydroelectric power station in Kiev. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that one of the aims of the Kiev regime’s bombing of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was to deprive Crimea of water. Russian President Vladimir Putin described the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power plant as a barbaric act of the Kiev regime, noting that it led to a large-scale environmental and humanitarian disaster.
