The State Duma Committee approved a project on the possibility of conscription of citizens with criminal records during the mobilization period.
MOSCOW, June 10 – RIA Novosti. The State Duma Defense Committee recommended that a bill proposing for a period of mobilization, martial law be passed at first reading to establish the possibility of conscription of citizens with criminal records, except those convicted of serious crimes. The list of the committee is published in the Duma electronic database.
Previously, a bill was presented to the State Duma, which proposed to determine the possibility of conscription of citizens with a criminal record, for the period of mobilization, martial law, with the exception of those convicted of serious crimes. The initiative was launched by Andrey Kartapolov, chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, and Andrey Krasov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee.
“The State Duma Defense Committee recommends that the State Duma adopt this bill at first reading,” the document states.
Earlier on Wednesday, a bill was submitted to the State Duma proposing martial law for the period of mobilization to establish the possibility of conscription for military service of citizens with a criminal record, excluding those convicted of serious crimes. The initiative was launched by Andrey Kartapolov, chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, and Andrey Krasov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee.
