UAC receives an additional order for the production of fighter jets for new military districts
MOSCOW, August 23 – RIA Novosti. UAC Director General Yury Slyusar told RIA Novosti that the United Aviation Corporation (UAC) has received an additional order for the production of fighter jets to arm the new military zones, Moscow and Leningrad.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that two new military zones, Moscow and Leningrad, will be established in 2023. With their creation, Russia will strengthen the troop groups on its western borders.
“We are receiving an additional order under the State Defense Order, you know the plans to create new military zones, create new units, they will also have an aviation component. New missions are being added to the original plans,” said Slyusar.
He also recalled that production of certain types of fighter jets has increased many times since the inception of NMD and is advancing at a “dramatic pace”.
