Shoigu repeated Putin’s words, describing Ukraine’s counterattack as a failure
SOCHI, September 4 – RIA Novosti. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that he agreed with Supreme Commander Vladimir Putin’s assessment of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, and that it was unsuccessful.
“It is probably wrong for me to comment on what the Commander-in-Chief said, I can only confirm that it is true,” Shoigu told reporters.
He noted that the Ukrainian army had carried out “violent attacks with great forces and with great hopes” to carry out “orders given” “for the past, at least ten days”.
“Everything today is exactly as our President said,” added the minister.
