AFP: Seven people die from unknown disease in Ivory Coast
MOSCOW, September 18 – RIA Novosti. Seven people have died and 59 more have been hospitalized in Ivory Coast due to an unknown disease, the agency reported. French Press.
Citing local sources, the agency writes: “Seven people died on Sunday in a village in central Ivory Coast, near Bouaké (city), where 59 people were hospitalized for an illness of unknown origin.”
The age of those who died from the disease ranged from 5 to 12 years old, the agency said.
It was noted that most of those hospitalized were children. Symptoms of the disease are vomiting and diarrhea.
The agency recalls that in February this year, in another village, also located near the city of Bouaké, two people were sentenced to five years in prison for the deaths of 16 people after contracting the Clostridia bacteria.
