ANKARA, November 27 – RIA Novosti. The Ministry of National Defense reported that 3 soldiers lost their lives in the Operation Claw-Castle region in northern Iraq.

In the statement made by the Turkish Armed Forces, “We express our condolences to the families of the victims, our armed forces and our noble nation.” The statement was included.

Turkey is conducting operations against the Syrian wing of the country’s banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in northern Syria and Iraq.

Armed conflict with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in Turkey began in 1984 and resumed in 2015. There are PKK bases in Northern Iraq where the Turkish Armed Forces conduct air and land operations. The presence of Turkish troops in the Zlikan camp northeast of Mosul has long been a source of contention between Baghdad and Ankara, legitimizing the presence as necessary to combat Turkey’s outlawed PKK.
