Xi Jinping called on the Palestinian people to realize their right to life as soon as possible

BEIJING, November 30 – RIA Novosti. In his message on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the Palestinian people’s right to life and the establishment of a state should be realized as soon as possible.

The telegram, the text of which was distributed on Thursday, said: “Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations should be restarted as soon as possible and the rights of the Palestinian people to statehood, survival and return should be realized as soon as possible.” China Central Television.

Xi Jinping also emphasized that the bitter lesson learned from the vicious circle of the Palestine-Israeli conflict shows that sustainable security can only be achieved by adhering to the concept of common security.

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday published a five-point document outlining China’s position on resolving the Palestine-Israel conflict. In particular, Beijing calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the protection of civilians, and calls for a return to the “Two States for Two Peoples” plan as a way out of this situation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on its borders. According to media reports, Israel allowed civilians to return to northern Gaza

On October 7, within the scope of the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation announced by the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented scale rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. After this, the organization’s fighters entered the border areas in southern Israel, opened fire on both military and civilians, and took more than 200 people hostage. According to the latest data from the authorities in Israel, approximately 1.2 thousand people, including civilians, soldiers, foreign citizens and workers, lost their lives, while more than 5 thousand people were injured.

In response, the Israel Defense Forces launched Operation Iron Sword against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Within days, the Israeli army took control of all settlements near the Gaza border and began carrying out air strikes on targets, including civilians in the strip. Israel also announced a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip: supplies of water, food, electricity, medicine and fuel were stopped.

At the end of October, the ground phase of Israel’s operation in the region began. Gaza City was surrounded by Israeli ground forces and the area was effectively divided into southern and northern parts.

The Russian Embassy reported that 20 Russians were killed, two were taken hostage, and seven were listed as missing during the escalation of the conflict. According to various sources, it is stated that approximately 150 Israelis may be held captive by Hamas. The movement itself stated that there were approximately 200-250 prisoners in the Gaza Strip.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the parties to stop the clashes. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s stance, a solution to the Middle East crisis can only be possible on the basis of the “two-state” formula approved by the UN Security Council, which envisages the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the UN. It borders the 1967 capital, East Jerusalem.
