Ushakov: Putin will meet with the presidents of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iran about the BRICS connection
MOSCOW, December 5 – RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with the presidents of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iran regarding these countries’ connections with BRICS, said Russian President’s Deputy for International Affairs Yuri Ushakov.
Putin will visit the UAE and Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and receive Iran’s president at the Kremlin on December 7.
Ushakov emphasized that these are “very relevant and extremely important contacts”, which are important not only for the further development and strengthening of friendly ties with these countries, but also in connection with the worsening situation in the Middle East.
“And third: the Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Iran received an invitation to become members of BRICS in 2024. And, as we know, Russia will head this association in 2024. And it will be quite logical to discuss this issue.” Ushakov told reporters how Russia’s presidency can ensure seamless connection of these three countries in all spheres of BRICS activity.
He emphasized that the role of BRICS in world affairs is undoubtedly increasing and this is clear to everyone.
