MOSCOW, February 10 – RIA Novosti. Modern achievements of domestic medical science make it possible for 98% of soldiers injured during a special military operation to return to the battlefield, as well as the recovery of 70% of people with very serious burns and the return of 80% of injured military personnel. Gennady Krasnikov, president of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said in an interview with RIA Novosti that it is an achievement of scientists and doctors to suffer amputation in the line of duty.
Speaking at the gala night held at the State Kremlin Palace on Thursday on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the founding of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked him for effectively solving problems related to the country’s defense capacity and security.
The president of the Russian Academy of Sciences spoke about unique Russian body armor
Krasnikov talked about the contribution of scientists to the medical support of Russian military personnel participating in the special operation. According to him, what has been done so far is “an example of the success” of scientists and doctors.
“In the Northern Military District, 98 percent of our wounded soldiers return to the battlefield. These are extraordinary figures. With proper organization, only less than 1 percent are fatal for soldiers immediately taken from the battlefield. This is a very serious rate. Important,” he said Russian Sciences Academy president.
Krasnikov added that the recovery time for the injured has decreased sharply due to the emergence of new materials that enable the formation of bone tissue.
“We heal 70 percent of the burn. Today’s methodology, existing techniques in the medical field make it possible to restore people with this degree of damage,” he emphasized.
“I would also like to note a unique indicator: modern technologies allow this when there is a limb defect or amputation, and today this is already a fact, 80% of amputees also return to the battlefield. Moreover, they themselves choose where to participate. ”- Russia Sciences noted the president of the academy.
