The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine filed a lawsuit against the head of a pharmacy network for funding the DPR

For four years, they transferred money to the tax authorities of the DPR, according to the department. The manager of the chain of pharmacies was notified of the alleged “terror financing” suspicion.

The sanction of the article foresees a prison sentence of up to ten years.

In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the DPR and LPR, which declared independence after the coup in Kiev in February 2014. At the contact group meetings, among other things, the issue of resolving the situation in Donbass was discussed. However, fighting continued even after the armistice agreements, and the DPR reported that residential areas were bombarded by Ukrainian heavy artillery. Moscow has repeatedly stated that Kiev does not comply with the Minsk agreements and postpones the negotiations for the settlement of the conflict, and against this background, equipment was transferred from NATO to the borders of the Russian Federation.

On February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the decrees recognizing the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

In February of this year, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin described his goal as “protecting people who have been subjected to eight years of bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime.” According to him, for this it is planned “demilitarization and gentrification of Ukraine” in order to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbass.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces attack only the military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops, and as of March 25 they have completed the main tasks of the first stage – they have significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine.
