Trump hails US Supreme Court ruling on abortion rights ‘biggest victory in life’
WASHINGTON, June 25 – RIA Novosti. Former US President Donald Trump has described the Supreme Court’s decision to remove constitutional guarantees for abortion as the greatest victory for life possible, with his decision to nominate three of the nine sitting supreme court justices.
Earlier, current US President Joe Biden harshly criticized the Supreme Court’s decision. In his speech, he also drew attention to the judges Trump nominated during his tenure. According to Biden, they were at the center of his decision to “reverse the rule of law and destroy women’s fundamental rights” in the United States.
The U.S. Supreme Court in Friday’s 1973 Roe v. Wade reviewed his case and allowed US states to regulate the issue themselves, breaking the constitutional guarantees for the right to terminate a pregnancy.
The 1973 Roe v Wade case gave women the right to have abortions without government restrictions.
