FCS Deputy Chairman Davydov: The Armed Forces of Ukraine almost constantly bombard the border checkpoints
MOSCOW, July 7 – RIA Novosti. Ruslan Davydov, Deputy Head of the Department, told RIA Novosti that the checkpoints of the Federal Customs Service on the border with Ukraine are subject to regular shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“In some cases, our workers actually rescued people who were in their cars, literally evacuating them one minute before the mortar attack. They appeared to avoid human casualties,” he said.
According to Davydov, the shelling is almost constant. Basically, these are attacks from drones: explosives or grenades are attached to them, the device flies over the checkpoint and drops a projectile.
The interlocutor of the agency said, “They try to beat the civilians as soon as the Ukrainian refugees pass by. At the same time, Ukraine accuses us of destroying the customs infrastructure.”
According to the FCS press service, as of June 30, Ukrainian troops opened fire on Russian customs checkpoints at least 29 times. Customs officers were evacuated about 90 times.
