British Foreign Secretary Truss blames Russia for the death of a mercenary captured by the DPR
MOSCOW, July 15 – RIA Novosti. British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss blamed Russia for the death of British mercenary Paul Ury, who was held captive in the DPR, says In a statement published on the British government website.
Earlier, DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova said that British mercenary Paul Johnson Anthony Dominic Ury, who was held captive in the Donetsk People’s Republic, died on July 10 due to illness and a depressive state, due to indifference to his fate in his homeland. In this context, the British Foreign Office summoned Andrey Kelin, the Russian Ambassador to London.
The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, stated that the mercenaries arriving in Ukraine are not combatants, “The best thing that awaits them is a long prison sentence.” The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, reported in June that the number of foreign mercenaries fighting in the Donbass had decreased and they were trying to leave Ukraine. Three foreigners caught in Mariupol on June 9 in Donetsk were sentenced to death – two British nationals Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin, and Moroccan national Saadoun Brahim. All three admitted to the armed aggression of Ukraine aimed at seizing power in the DPR.
