Galuzin said that the ceremony was held on the eve of the 77th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War, which was achieved “with the selfless efforts of all 15 republics that were part of the USSR.”

He directed the Soviet leadership about the plans of Japan, which directed its aggression not to the north, but to the south, and as a result, the Russian ambassador reorganized troops from the Far East, where in December 1941 the first large-scale victory was won strategically. possible to group and transfer units to Moscow.

After the speech, the heads of diplomatic missions held a minute’s silence. Ambassadors of Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan attended the ceremony.

Soviet intelligence officer Richard Sorge worked as a reporter for German newspapers in Japan from 1933. Thanks to his brilliant analytical articles, charm, knowledge and intelligence, he soon led to the German Embassy, ​​where he became the friend of the military attaché, after which he was offered a job as a press attaché. There is information that Sorge may even be allowed to head the party cell of the National Socialist Party at the German Embassy in Tokyo.

Before the war began, he was able to obtain accurate information about Nazi Germany’s attack on the USSR and the forces of the German army that would be involved, and in the autumn of 1941 announced that Japan would not fight. Attacking the USSR, which made it possible to transfer the Siberian divisions to the defense of Moscow.

Before the temptation of the Soviet intelligence officer, the Japanese researcher could not resist. In his notes about Sorge, he recalled: “He was a charming man, though criminal, and I led his case.”

Even Sorge’s imprisonment is adorned with a romantic halo. There is a legend that he asked his group not to persecute female members in exchange for a confession of spying for the USSR. Sorge smoked a lot, his last wish before his execution on November 7, 1944 was to smoke a cigarette. In 1964, Richard Sorge was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
