Rogov: It will be possible to knock out the ZNPP, but it will not be possible to remove the barrels with nuclear waste
MOSCOW, 16 August/ Radio Sputnik. It is possible to knock out the Zaporizhzhya NPP, but this will require large funds. At the same time, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, said in Solovyov’s publication that barrels containing nuclear waste will not be removed from the territory of the station.
“There is an opportunity (to mothball the Zaporizhzhya NPP), it is very expensive, it will definitely be a minus in terms of economy. In fact, this (should) close the station … But we will not remove all nuclear fuel waste from the landfill, all these 174 barrels will remain anyway, or when we remove them – (AFU) they will hit”, – nail Rogova RIA Novosti.
He noted that nuclear fuel is stored in reinforced concrete barrels that are higher than a two-story building. Rogov added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine deliberately attacked them.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that the British were horrified by Zelensky’s words about the ZNPP.
