Moldovan Prime Minister Gavrilitsa said there will be a personnel change in the country’s government.
KISINAU, 25 August – RIA Novosti. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa said staff changes are expected in the Moldovan government.
Earlier, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said she was dissatisfied with the work of some ministries, but did not name their names.
“There are areas where we have experts, but they are moving more slowly during the crisis. When we are ready to announce some changes, we will do it as prescribed,” Moldovan Telegram channels reported on Thursday.
The prime minister also did not name any ministries that, in his view, were operating “slower”.
Since mid-May, the Bloc of Communists and Socialists, together with the Shor party that joined them, has been organizing anti-government protests in various regions and cities of Moldova against the backdrop of an unprecedented 33.5% inflation. Protesters’ anger is fueled by the unprecedented rise in gas, other energy sources and food prices, as well as the decline in living standards. Political formations called on other opposition forces to support them in order to force the government to resign and hold early parliamentary elections, thus depriving the ruling party of the advantage. Experts believe that a large number of protests can await Moldova in the fall.
