In Ukraine, an activist from the Medvedchuk Ivanochko team was detained on suspicion of treason

MOSCOW, August 26 – RIA Novosti. Inna Ivanochko, former head of the Lviv branch of the Opposition Platform – For Life party, which is banned in Ukraine, seen by the Ukrainian media as part of the team of opposition politician Viktor Medvedchuk, was detained on suspicion of treason, informs Version “Country”.

“Suspected of treason to Inna Ivanochko. According to the investigation, the woman led the Lviv union of pro-Russian organizations. She organized scientific and practical conferences, seminars and street actions demanding that Galicia be given a special economic-cultural status and attached to an independent state separate autonomy,” The publication quotes the text of the message from the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.

The Attorney General’s Office reported that from May 2015 to August 2022, the suspect engaged in subversive activities against the country, allegedly using the facilities of public institutions and personal contacts in veterans’ organizations for monetary reward. The department noted that the suspect communicated with “Russian curators” via social networks and email and sent reports of “subversive activities” being carried out.

The detainee may be sentenced to imprisonment for up to 15 years or life imprisonment with confiscation of his property.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law banning “pro-Russian” parties in Ukraine on May 14. Later, by a court decision, 16 parties were banned in Ukraine, including the Opposition Bloc, Socialists, Justice and Development, Ours, Derzhava, Vladimir Saldo Bloc, Ukrainian Socialist Party, Left Opposition, “Sharia Party”, “Opposition” Platform – For Life “.
