Head of the World Union of Old Believers Sevastyanov: The Pope is ready to visit the Boulevard of Angels
MOSCOW, August 27 – RIA Novosti. Continuing his contact with the Pope, the head of the World Union of Old Believers Leonid Sevastyanov said that Pope Francis is ready to discuss ending the conflict in Ukraine in Kiev, which came here from Russia via Donbass.
He noted that he had spoken to the Pope personally about this and was in contact with him every week. “There is an important fact here that they are trying to politicize the Pope, but he is not a politician, he treats all people equally, for him the value of human life is much more than belonging to this or that land or country… To visit Donbass, He is ready to meet with anyone who wants to meet, see, hear and pray with him.”
Earlier, in an interview with RIA Novosti, Sevastyanov expressed the view that the pope did not succumb to attempts to manipulate him by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the “collective West”. In February, Pope Francis, in a letter to Sevastyanov and his wife, opera singer Svetlana Kasyan, described the possible war between Western countries and Russia, which was discussed by the media about the situation in Donbas, as “crazy” and prayed for peace.
