PRAGUE, AUGUST 27 – RIA Novosti. Czech Republic and Slovak Ministry of Defense agreed to jointly purchase CV90 tracked infantry fighting vehicles from Sweden, reported Saturday on Czech TV.
“This is the best route for both countries, not only in terms of a bonus in the form of better prices, but also based on the fact that more of this equipment will be concentrated in one region. We can combine our efforts, our defense. businesses can jointly manufacture spare parts and make repairs.” said Chernokhova in the signature.
In turn, the head of the Slovak Ministry of Defense noted the uniqueness of this project.
“This is a project that is unique in scale both for us and for the Czech Republic. Military personnel will receive the same equipment. Also this project will help strengthen our defense industry. We will buy it through joint purchase. naturally lowers the overall cost of the equipment,” – said Nagy.
The Czech Republic and Slovakia had previously committed to creating a heavy mechanized equipment brigade with modern tanks and infantry fighting vehicles by 2026. As already noted in the Czech Ministry of Defense, the acquisition of infantry fighting vehicles in Sweden will be an important step in this direction.
