Energodar officials: the Ukrainian Armed Forces opened fire on the city with M777 American howitzers from Nikopol
ENERGODAR, 28 August – RIA Novosti. In an interview with the press service of the city administration, RIA Novosti was told that the Ukrainian security forces used American M777 howitzers during the shelling of Energodar in the Zaporozhye region.
Earlier, they told RIA Novosti about a Ukrainian kamikaze drone that was shot down over the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, and then Ukrainian troops opened fire on the residential areas of Energodar. Five deaths are reported.
“AFU militants are using American howitzers of 155 mm caliber M777, fired from the city of Nikopol,” said the administration official.
During the special operation, the Russian army took control of the Azov part of the Zaporozhye region and the entire Kherson region, occupied such major cities as Kherson, Melitopol and Berdyansk, and cut off Ukraine from the Sea of u200bu200bAzov. New administrations have been established in both regions, Russian TV channels and radio stations are broadcasting, trade and transport links with Crimea are being re-established. The regions announced their plans to become part of Russia.
