After the bombing of the Energodar and Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant by Ukrainian troops, electricity was cut off in the city
ENERGODAR, 1 September – RIA Novosti. According to the RIA Novosti correspondent, the power supply in Energodar was cut off after heavy shelling of the city by the Ukrainian army.
On Thursday morning, Ukrainian troops opened fire on the residential areas of Energodar. Several bullets went off in the central neighborhoods. The territory of the nuclear power plant was also subjected to bombardment.
Most shops in the city are closed. There are almost no cars or people on the streets.
The bombing of Energodar takes place on the eve of the planned visit of the IAEA delegation to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. In the last 24 hours, the city has been hit by more than 60 Ukrainian UAV and artillery strikes. Upon arrival in Zaporizhia, IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi expressed confidence that the mission could be accomplished safely.
