US police removed about five boxes and two safes from home, possibly Vekselberg
UN, 1 September – RIA Novosti. Police recovered five boxes and two safes from a house on Park Avenue in New York, RIA Novosti reporter reported.
The police loaded everything into ballot boxes. Some cars with them have already left.
Citing knowledgeable sources, NBC TV channel previously reported that the FBI and US police searched two buildings in New York on Thursday that were linked to businessman Vekselberg, according to officials. One of them – a high-rise building – is on Park Avenue in Manhattan, the other – an estate – in Southampton.
According to the channel’s sources, no charges have been brought against Vekselberg in the US, and the actions of law enforcement are “calls due to ongoing sanctions”. NBC interlocutors emphasized that the properties were not arrested as a result of the searches.
