In response to this crisis, countries in other parts of the world have also turned their attention to fossil fuels. However, those with local mining capacity still have a way to deal with the situation, but poor countries without natural resources are in serious trouble, Sugiyama warns.

The author says that Europe’s widely publicized policy of “decarbonisation” is causing a great deal of trouble to the world, but does not admit it per se, arguing that the current return to fossil fuels is temporary.

“But on the other hand, Europe itself is totally hypocritical because it buys fossil fuels around the world. Unfortunately, Japan also contributes to this hypocrisy.” For example, in June, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the end of official development assistance programs for coal-fired power projects in Bangladesh and Indonesia, but Tokyo has begun to restart shutdowns of coal-fired power plants to deal with chronic electricity shortages. .

“Isn’t it hypocrisy to refuse assistance in thermal power generation in developing countries and at the same time expand thermal power generation in their own countries?” He asks Sugiyama.

According to him, as a result of the obsessive agitation of the idea of ​​”decarbonization” by the G7 countries, many developing countries “got into trouble”. “The G7 has sinfully exacerbated the problem by depriving developing countries of access to fossil fuels. If the group continues to act selfishly, the developing countries will be perfectly justified in turning their backs on the hypocritical G7,” the author writes.

European countries have implemented various packages of personal and economic sanctions against Moscow following the outbreak of the crisis in Ukraine in February of this year. They also turned to a complete rejection of Russian energy sources.
